Malvar Senior High School held its first parent-teacher conference and card-giving activity to discuss relevant issues about students and their progress in school, Nov. 12.
The activity began with a general assembly where the principal welcomed parents and gave some reminders regarding school rules and regulations. She also emphasized their significant role in students' academic status.
After the assembly, parents went to their designated rooms for a conference that was facilitated by class advisers. The agenda included the following: student discipline, student attendance, uniform and dress code of students, the grading system, students' poor study habits, untimely submission of class requirements, and remediation for struggling learners. Other issues that were discussed were students' arrival and dismissal time, school cleanliness and orderliness, and the prohibition of cellphone use during class hours.
When the conference ended, class advisers distributed copies of the cards to parents.
