Malvar SHS celebrates Women's Month

To promote gender equality and inclusivity, Malvar Senior High School joined the nationwide celebration of National Women's Month by conducting a short program, Mar. 8.

This year's theme is, " WE for Gender Equality & Inclusive Society." The letters WE represent women and everyone and highlight the significant role of women and other people's role in the pursuit of gender equality.

The celebration became remarkable through the different contests that were held before the actual program. There were contests such as spoken poetry, essay writing, and poster making for students. Meanwhile, there was the contest for the most liked Facebook account profile with the 2023 NWMC frame for teaching and non-teaching personnel.

These were the winners in the spoken poetry contest: Keith Raizen P. Pasia from ICT 111 (1st place), Stephanie G. Olan from HUMSS 111 (2nd place), and Marycris G. Nacino from STEM 123 (3rd place).

Meanwhile, the following students won in the essay writing contest: Sherisse Joy D. Carandang from STEM 122 (1st place), Alexis R. Castillo from HUMSS 125 (2nd place), and Anne Loraine E. Garing from ABM 123 (3rd place).

The following students were declared winners in the poster making contest: John Rod M. Anilao from HE 121 (1st place), Ashley Leigh D. Blanco from ICT 112 (2nd place), and Jayvy De Leon from HUMSS 122 (3rd place).

The students who won received cash prizes (500-1st place; 300-2nd place; 200- 3rd place) and certificates.

For the most liked FB account, a cash prize of P1,000.00 was given to Mr. Jerrold Ramos (1st place and P500.00 to Mr. Perry Taborda (2nd place).

The program was initiated through the school's Gender and Development Coordinator, Mrs. Ronalyn D. Villapando.
